By using WhisperSubTranslate (the "Software"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Software.
1. License
WhisperSubTranslate is open-source software distributed under the GPL-3.0 License. Under the GPL-3.0 License terms:
- You may freely use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and sell the software.
- You must include the copyright notice and permission notice in all copies or substantial portions of the software.
2. Disclaimer of Warranty
The software is provided "AS IS", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement.
In no event shall the authors or copyright holders be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from the software or its use.
3. Usage Restrictions
You must not use the Software for:
- Unauthorized copying or distribution of copyrighted content
- Infringing on others' intellectual property rights
- Any illegal purposes
- Distributing malicious code or compromising security
4. Copyright and Intellectual Property
Copyright of subtitles generated using the Software may belong to the original content's copyright holder. You must:
- Have appropriate rights to all content you process
- Take full responsibility for how you use generated subtitles
- Comply with applicable copyright laws in your jurisdiction
5. Third-Party Services
The Software may optionally integrate with third-party translation services (DeepL, MyMemory, GPT-5-nano). Use of these services:
- Is subject to their respective terms of service
- Requires you to provide your own API key
- Any costs incurred are your responsibility
6. Open Source Components
The Software includes the following open-source projects:
- whisper.cpp - GPL-3.0 License
- Electron - GPL-3.0 License
- ffmpeg - LGPL/GPL License
Each component is subject to its respective license terms.
7. Updates and Changes
These terms may be changed without prior notice. Updated terms will be posted on this page, and continued use constitutes acceptance of the changes.
8. Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea.
